Hiya to all y6 children. I just want to say what an absolute pleasure it has been this year with you all. We've had some really great laughs-especially on residential. You ALL did fantastic with your SATs and I know your teachers and all support staff-including me- are very proud of you all. I will miss you all terribly but I know that you are ready to move on, meet new friends and do lots of fun things in your secondary schools. I shall be looking forward to seeing you in your new uniforms when you call in to see us in September. Have a fantastic Summer, stay safe and happy. Good luck and love to you all. From Mrs Self xxx

The passport fair was great fun the weather was brilliant after an uncertain rainy morning. I was kept busy running the Cricket Skills game (in which must have been the hottest part of the playground).

The kids who played were very patient and had a great time, thanks to my assistants Rebecca Brookes and George Burling who started off with me and made it posible to run three games at once.

after a while I was joined by George Crookes,Callum Furniss and Brooke Bell who gave me the chance to get a well needed drink of water off Mrs Hardwick.

Thanks also to Megan, Imogen Dayna and Jordan Mchale who were Brilliant and kept the passports stamped and marked.also thanks Connor and CraIg for clearing up after me.. Last but not least to the Feisty Mrs Gibson who was as brilliant as ever.

Sorry if I've missed anyone but I was ducking some 100MPH Y6 Tennis balls, (Shelly Simpson are you sure you were aiming at the wickets!!!!)

A Very enjoyable experience yet again. Well done Porter.

Driven into the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nearly 70 kids, cooking three meals a day for them, making hundreds of beds doing lots of scary (but Fun) activities and sleeping in arctic conditions in tents (well me Mr Ellin and a lot of adventurous boys were!) it can only be "THORNBRIDGE 2009"

It was a fantastic three days where we barely sat down for five minutes before we were off on yet another adventure.

everybody really got into the spirit and joined in with everything. some of the activities were "Challenging" to say the least and quite a few people (staff included) had to dig deep to conquer their fears. My thanks to Nicole in my group who like me "Doesn’t do Heights" for inspiring me to get up to the High Ropes after she bravely got up to the landing stage, especially after waiting to the very last for her go.

It was a great effort from everyone there Well done Mr Ellin and Mrs Mc dermott for all the hard work they have done organizing a fantastic Y6 Residential.

We had a great team:The Dynamic Mr Ellin, the Unstopable Mrs McDermot, the Wonderful Mrs Bowler (always ready with a black bag) The Effervescent Mrs Self who got stuck in as usual even with an injured foot, Fearless Miss Bendell on her first residential, and our resident football coach Dashing Dal who did a great job keeping the kids busy while we had a bit of a breather.

Thanks to all our visitors it was great to see you all Mrs Turner Miss Barker Mrs Godbehere Mrs Goodison Mrs Denford and it was nice to see Mrs England come to see the Y6's who were pleased to see her.

my apologies if i've missed anyone, I was running about all over the place carrying trays of chips.

Thanks to my group Macca,Alex,Dan,Callum,|Matt,Angelica
Olivia,Tynika,Nicole,Emma and Leona they made it great fun.

you can relive all the excitement with Mrs Selfs Fantastic Displays in the Junior Building,

last of all it was really hard tiring work.......But TOTALLY WORTH IT !!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Y6 Mr Adams

Gosh, I never realised so many people were chatting away to each other! It's really interesting to read your comments and views. They have really risen to the challenge and I'd like to wish them all the best of luck for next week. Remember, it will all be over by next Friday and then we can have some fun. Do your best and be proud of yourselves!!!! I'm looking forward to covering some challenging topics next term; the Lords Mayors Parade Project, Thornbridge,Y6 leavers assembly and the Y6 School Production. Bring it on!

Hello all! Just to let everyone know that Malin Bridge PTA is holding a Quiz Night on Wed 29th April at the Beehive Pub on Dykes Hall Rd. Tickets are £2 each either in advance from school or the pub, or on the night at the pub. Teams can have up to 6 members, and the first prize is a case of wine. There will be optional pie and peas on the night for £2 for those who wish to feed their brains, with a percentage of the money raised from this going directly back to school. It should be a fabulous evening, and a great opportunity to mix a good night out, with raising a few bob for school. For more info on the PTA please click on the tab on the left menu. I,ve just survived another week in castleton with the Y4s.

It was really good fun (also a lot of hard work) well done Mr Ellin, Miss Hall, Mrs Godbehere and Miss Lord.
Well done Mrs G on making it up Lose Hill (and at one point being right at the front...No Really its true!)

The weather was good all week so well done all those kids who carted their waterproofs all over the place without complaining (too much).

The Talent shows were as brilliant as ever everyone who got up to do an act was very brave! (I am still totally mystified how Mr Ellin performed his Amazing Magic Trick)

Thanks to all the kids for making this yet another cracking Residential well done all of you. as a friend of mine has often said "Always a Pleasure"

Oh and thanks to J T Banks for always keeping me entertained in the first half by testing my knowledge of James Bond films..

I could go on and on hope you all enjoyed it, do take a moment to thank all those involved when you see them after the holidays have a fantastic Easter.

Hi all. Thanks for all the comments and lets keep them coming in.

I've added a new gallery section to the site, see the button on the left? This will take you to another Malin Bridge site set up just to view photos from events.

Currently there is no link to return you to the main site so either click your back button or save both sites in your favourites and you can switch between them at your leisure.

It was a fantastic day with everyone getting into the spirit of things from the play group right up to the Y6's

The Talent Show was totally Brilliant from start to finish, everyone clapped and joined in smiling and laughing for this 2 hour extravaganza. Malin Bridge had been like The School of Performing arts for the last few weeks with groups of children dancing, singing, playing, instruments telling jokes and various other acts.

Well done Mr T "your the one that we want" Thanks Mrs C for going on stage with me (Are you ready to rock n roll) and giving it your all, and of course thanks to Casey Megan and Olivia (the words girls) for singing with us.

Oh what a lot of messages. Hello current pupils and ex-pupils. Thanks for mentioning The Robin Hood Files, Bex and Isobel - if you do a Google search for it, you should find the script in its published form on the internet. I don't know why the photos aren't viewable from here right now but they certainly used to be. By the way, Isobel, don't worry - he's OK, really.
Best of British to you all.

We are a family that has have to drive to school as we live over at Wadsley, parking is an issue but I do endeavor to park safely. Unfortunately there are still some parents that completely ignore any warnings and basic road sense just so they can park within feet of the school, it's both lazy and selfish. Why? when it's an accident waiting to happen.

I hope all of you at Malin Bridge are enjoying the new school year, and that all those that just went up to Wisewood or Myers Grove have settled in, and are enjoying it too. Time travels so fast that you'll be in Y11 before you know it. I mean I can't believe I’ve been at Tinsley Junior School for over a month now and I’m thoroughly enjoying it! How time flies… and how half term approaches :)

Anyhow I had a wonderful time at Malin Bridge and I worked with some brilliant and often very funny children, and I dare say I learned as much from them, as they did from me. I was often reminded of why I got into working in schools in the first place, and it wasn't just for the trips to Weston Park Museum with Mr Israel and Mr Lomas’ classes, contrary to popular belief!

Anyhow, I’d like to wish each and every one of you all the best for the future.

Mr Hawley

Hii.x
If you dare to look way way way down there , you shall see a comment from me back in May this year. That was before SATs! But know , I have Started Wisewood. (I warn you , this is going to be a long comment!!) Well , On the last day , ask anyone in my class how much i cried. I was so emotional , having been there since i was 3 , in the pre-school. I cried when i got home , too. I have many , many happy memories at Malin Bridge , I cant say how much i am going to miss the fabulous teachers. Wow , my eyes are filling up!! Anyway , Wisewood is good too. Still getting used to everything , and the Teachers are really firm...but fair i suppose. I can remember all my Malin Bridge Teachers!! miss undrell , Mr tuffin , Miss kelsall (Mrs Turner) , Miss Moore , Mrs.Bowler , Mr.ellin , Miss grantham. Now I have Wisewood's own...Mrs Silverster , who is also lovely! And just a quick note to Miss Grantham , My brother told me. I feel really sorry or her , as her mother... Yes. I could go on like this forever nd ever!! Wow , I miss Malin. I have made many , many , many new friends though!! Good luck to the year sixes , they are in for a tough year...With revision and sats. They will buckle down on the revision after christmas!! Lots of love to everyone at Malin Bridge. Lots Of love , Isobel. x

P.S- Mr tuffin , I'm sorry you have my brother this year!! HAHAHA!!

It was a brilliant production. Well done to all those involved in creating and producing it, and a great big round of applause to all the actors and singers.

Keep checking the site, there will soon be some photo's from the night, after the permission slips have been sent out, hopefully no one will object.

I was a student at Malin Bridge 1958-63 then went off to Wisewood. I now live in Australia and was just checking out my old school wondering if it had changed much. The picture on this web page shows the school as I rememberd it.Are there any links to old pictures and history?
